01 · What Heavy Duty Means Core · Edges · Comfort

What a heavy duty mattress actually does.

Heavier bodies press deeper into a mattress, so support has to come from the core, not just the top layers. These are the four things the Mattress Lux team looks at first.

01 · Core

A stronger support core

The coil system or support core carries most of the load. Look for robust pocketed coils or zoned support that keep your hips level with your shoulders instead of letting them sink.

02 · Edges

Edges you can sit on

Reinforced edges make it easier to sit, get in and out of bed, and use the full width of the mattress without rolling toward the middle.

03 · Comfort

Comfort layers that recover

Pressure-relieving foams and latex need enough depth to cushion without bottoming out. Too thin, and you feel the coils underneath by morning.

04 · Temperature

Cooling that keeps up

More contact with the mattress can mean more heat. Cooling covers and breathable layers help, and the mattresses below are built with them.

Every body is different. A Lux Fit pressure map shows how each mattress supports you, so you are not choosing from a label.

How pressure mapping
finds your fit.

You lie down on a few mattresses while a pressure map shows, on a screen, where your body carries pressure and where your spine needs more support. A Lux Fit is free and takes about 15 minutes.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no single best mattress, because the right one depends on your body and how you sleep. Look for a strong support core, reinforced edges, and comfort layers deep enough to cushion without bottoming out. At Mattress Lux in Kennesaw, a free Lux Fit pressure map shows which mattresses support you best.
Hybrids pair a coil support core with comfort foams, so the coils carry the load and the foams relieve pressure. Beautyrest Black hybrids use Triple-Stranded Pocketed Coil Technology with specialty foams for individualized support and motion separation.
A smart bed adjusts its support to your body. The SmartLife Lotus 2.0 uses Body Sensing Technology to drive 80 Smart Cells across 8 zones per side, adapting in real time through the night, with Talalay latex and HypurGel cooling memory foam on top. Mattress Lux Kennesaw is the authorized SmartLife dealer for Cobb County and the metro Atlanta area.
Not always. A firm support core matters, but a surface that is too firm can push on the shoulders and hips. Many heavier sleepers do best with a firm core and a comfort layer that relieves pressure. Testing in your real sleep position is the fastest way to tell.
Lux Fit is a free, 15-minute assessment at Mattress Lux. A specialist asks how you sleep and what feels uncomfortable, then you lie on a few mattresses while pressure-mapping technology shows, on a screen, where your body carries pressure and where your spine needs more support. Your Lux Fit Agent uses those results to narrow more than 20 brands down to the two or three that fit you. Specialists work on no commission.
Yes. After you narrow your shortlist in the showroom, you can take your mattress home and sleep on it for 90 nights to confirm the fit. Ask your Lux Fit Agent about the trial terms for the model you choose.
